Guidance for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) at Kanazawa University

令和7年度（2025年4月）入学する皆さんへ
To All Students Entering School in April 2025

金沢大学では学生生活に関わる主な連絡や手続きはオンラインで行っており、ポータルサイトにログインすることで、履修登録・各講義の担当教員との連絡・e-learning教材を用いた自習・レポート提出・成績確認、更には健康診断結果の確認や進学・就職支援に至る学生生活全般に関する情報の取得が可能です。ノートパソコンは授業でも活用され、1年次第1クォーターに開講される全学必修科目「データサイエンス基礎」で上記に記載した大学でのパソコンの利用方法を学んだ後、学部4年間を通じて、卒業論文を執筆するまで利用することを前提としています。そのため、特別な事情がない限り、入学時までにノートパソコンを準備してください。

At Kanazawa University, most communication and administrative procedures for students are carried out online. By logging into the university’s portal site, known as the Acanthus Portal, students can access a wide range of services that support many aspects of campus life, including:

• Course registration
• Communication with instructors for each course
• Access to e-learning materials
• Assignment submission
• Accreditation procedures
• Health check-up results
• Academic and career guidance

To help students become familiar with these online services, all first-year students are required to complete a compulsory course titled Introduction to Data Science, offered during the first quarter.

Throughout their undergraduate studies, students are expected to bring and regularly use their own laptop, since many lectures provide e-learning materials. Therefore, unless there are exceptional circumstances, students are asked to prepare a suitable laptop prior to enrollment.

1. Please prepare a suitable laptop, making sure that it meets the required specifications.
