Set Up Multifactor Authentication for Microsoft 365

Japanese

What is Multifactor Authentication?

Multifactor authentication is additional authentication used for identity verification in addition to passwords. This enhances identity verification and aims to reduce the risk of identity fraud.

For security reasons, multifactor authentication is required to turn on cloud services. If you turn on cloud services, multifactor authentication will be necessary to sign in to other services that use your account.

You will be asked for additional authentication (multifactor authentication) after entering your Microsoft 365 account and password.

Never approve authentication requests received when you are not trying to sign in to your account. Change your Microsoft 365 password immediately if you receive an authentication request any time other than when you are trying to sign in to your account.

Software That Uses Multifactor Authentication

・Microsoft OneDrive

・Microsoft Teams

If you enable multifactor authentication for the above software, multifactor authentication will also be applied to the below software that uses your Microsoft 365 account.

・Microsoft Office

・Webex Personal Rooms

・Zoom Personal Meetings

・Other software for which you sign in using your Kanazawa University Microsoft 365 account
